Training for Providers
Child Care Connection offers a wide range of training, from required courses, such as the Health and Safety Class to professional development opportunities and technical assistance. Our professional development opportunities include American Red Cross CPR and First Aid, SUNY Video conferences, CACFP trainings, Shaken Baby, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Child Abuse and Maltreatment, and other required topic areas. Child Care Connection' trainings are designed around the NYS OCFS regulations and training requirements for registered and licensed programs.
We provide one-on-one technical assistance to help providers improve their program quality and maintain compliance with the state regulations. Our quarterly newsletter and annual conferences help child care professionals stay current with the most up-to-date information.
Child Care Connection offers Medication Administration Training and Health Care Consultancy through a contract with Otsego County Public Health Nursing.
There is a grant available through SUNY to reimburse providers for the cost of the MAT. There is a rebate available through SUNY toward the expense of the Health and Safety Class. The Education Incentive Program is a scholarship program available through SUNY to assist providers with the cost of training. For more information, visit www.tsg.suny.edu.
